APS Mobile
Mobile is a high-priority subset of the mobility features of CaseCompass. The purpose of the application is to allow users to complete Assessments and document Progress Notes for Service Requests when not connected to the network.
The primary use cases for the mobile application include:
- Reviewing basic service request information in preparation for completing an assessment
- Completing Assessments
- Documenting Progress Notes
When the user returns to a networked environment and is ready to synchronize the data they have collected, they will start the Mobile application and indicate that an upload is ready. The system will attempt to upload any data entered or editing on the laptop into the main CaseCompass repository . There are two data validation checks that influence the synchronization process: the Service Request must still be assigned to the field worker in CaseCompass , and the Service Request must still be open. If either of these conditions is not met, the synchronization process will display an error message and terminate. The data will remain in the Mobile application until it is either deleted by the user, or the validation checks are resolved in CaseCompass.
During the upload, the synchronization process will evaluate if any changes have been made to a particular object (a specific recording, a specific assessment) in CaseCompass while the user was disconnected. If it detects an object has been changed after the download, it will display an error message and ask if the user wishes to continue the synchronization or terminate. The synchronization process will cycle through all updates/additions in this fashion .
If all data from the laptop is successfully uploaded to the CaseCompass repository, the system will display a success message. It will then automatically remove all copies of the data from the Mobile application. If any data is not uploaded, it will remain in the Mobile application and be available for the user to view. The user can then reconcile the changes manually within CaseCompass, or reset the Mobile database with a manual delete process (single click operation).
